I spent the last day googling on stuck trackpad button. I was thinking that I had dropped some coffee or something. It took a while to even set up my external mouse to work after disabling the trackpad (was not easy as it sounded for some reason as the button kept bugging me).
Then this morning, my laptop was like a restaurant table that requires to be leveled. Found out the battery was swollen. Took it off right away.
Searching for info on that, I found a post that links both issues: the swollen battery pushes the trackpad from underneath causing the button to be stuck. I had not thought that this could be the issue. After reactivating the trackpad, my button works fine.
Now I will have to let go my laptop for a week or so to have all the issues fixed:
- insight cam broken since around first months
- system clicking-off with battery at 38% (this must be related to the swollen problem)
- "e", and other letters completely erased on keyboard
- some missing keys that I broken when trying to fix them after they got stuck
